Cailtin & Reggie Hansome
Saturday, October 25th, 2008

Reggie worked at a local cinemaplex for over a
decade and so we ran into a vacant theater between
showings (SAW IV), set up some quick external lights
and I climbed a 12 foot ladder to capture this fun shot
of the couple and their entire bridal party.

I photographed the wedding of Cailtin & Reggie Hansome Saturday in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

As soon as I arrived at the church I'd noticed a pet carrier in front. I peeked in and noticed a little kitten shivering in the cold wrapped in a blanket. It was in the low 50s, snow was expected and who knows how long the poor cat had been left outside.

I brought it inside the church and asked somone working there if they'd care for it. They said the church was closing after the ceremony and they'd have to put it back outside as nobody would be there to care for it and it wasn't their responsibility.

Fearing cold temps and frost/snow by morning, I couldn't bear to imagine this lonely cat outside in the cold so I put it in my car during the rest of the day.

During the reception I went outside to feed it and play with it a bit. It was starved for attention, purring and buzzing with every gesture I made toward it.

Though I'm highly allergic to cats and dogs - the crime of the century cause I really LOVE animals - I decided to call my wife and see if she minded me bringing it home.

Fortunately whoever dropped it off at the church also left some food along with a litter box and food/water dispensers.

We set up our spare bedroom as its new (possibly temporary) home (based on my allergies) and I appropriately named it 'Nikon'.

Fortunately, nothing too cat-astrophic to report from the wedding!

Here's some photos Sunday morning of Nikon with our turtle 'Terrapin'.
