Phish bassist Mike Gordon's Thurday night show at Chicago's Park West featured the musician dressed in white tux and tails ala P.T. Barnum leading his current band as an entire circus performed while the band rocked out on stage. Plate spinners, jugglers, giant clowns on stilts with puppets, hula-hoopers who stripped down to pasties, even a burlesque, tattooed ring leader with a bullwhip who made Gordon hold a rose in his teeth as she whipped it out... the Strangest Show on Earth!
Gordon was kind enough to stick around and sign autographs for fans at the venue's merchandise booth after the evenings performance. Poster artist Jim Pollock created a two color limited edition hand carved linoleum block poster for the evenings performance that many struggled to keep dry as they exited into the driving rain that persisted the entire day.
